Patrick, I loved your language comparison presentation. The pictures were really great. Your data analysis information was thorough and interesting as were your teaching implications. Being in Columbia right now and taking these courses, really benefits your outlook on all we are learning. Great job!
Great layout...I like how you included in all of the error slides the same format: English pronounced, English intented, and Analysis. The format was easy to follow and very informative for the reader.
You were very creative with the colors and pictures on all of your slides...I really liked the picture of the Panama Canal.
Patrick, Thank goodness I took so much Spanish because your entire blog came up in Spanish, including all of the publishing details haha. I really liked that you mentioned that English does "weird" things with infinitives. I remember that when I was learning Spanish it was difficult for me to grasp the way that infinitives were used in Spanish because it is so different than English.
I also found it very interesting that your student struggled with prepositions. One thing that I have noticed across the board is that many foreign languages do not have the variety of prepositions that we have in English.
Finally, I had never considered the level of frustration that students who have similar alphabets to English would have with pronunciation. I'm glad that you mentioned this in your presentation because it is definitely something that I would address with my students.
